Howard McBride, age 72, of Jefferson Hills, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 in AHN Jefferson Hospital with family by his side. He was born Howard Robert McBride in East Liverpool, OH and grew up in McKeesport, PA. He was one of two children of Robert and Dorothy (Peroney) McBride.

Howard was a mechanic and parts manager for many Chrysler & Dodge dealerships in the area and also owner of McBride Auto Repair. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Daniel Keffer Post #75 in Clairton for 50 years and has held many offices including Post Commander, 36 ^th District, and Western Vice Commander for the Department of PA.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandy Varna. Howard is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jean McBride; and three children, Dorothy (Robert), Howard II (Sally) and Patricia (Alan); and a grandson, Blake.

Friends will be received on Saturday, Jan. 24 ^th and Sunday, Jan. 25 ^th from 2 – 4  and  6 – 9  PM in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 (Large) Jefferson Hills, PA 15025. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, Jan. 26 ^th at 9 AM followed by interment in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville with military honors.
