Helen Elizabeth (Yuhas) Ivak, age 80, of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania died Monday, January 31, 2011 .  Born September 24, 1930 in Duquesne, Pennsylvania, she was a part-time employee of the West Jefferson Hills school District in Food Services for over 25 years.  Gifted in art, crafts and horticulture, a beautiful flower was always near.  Her love of travel, the Tamburitzans and her religious faith gave the world a beautiful soul.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Edward Ivak on March 10, 2002 and is survived by her 3 children, 1 son, Tom Ivak (age 59) of Oakdale, Pennsylvania;  2 daughters, Annette Marchich (age 53) of Longmont, Colorado and Emily Ivak (age 50) of Astoria, New York; 1 grandson, Tim Ivak; 1 granddaughter, Stephanie Livingston; 1 great-grandson, 1 year old, Ethan; 1 sister, Alice Svirbel of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania;  2 brothers, John Yuhas of White Oak, Pennsylvania and Albert Yuhas of Portland, Oregon and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8:30 PM, Thursday, February 3, 2011 in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 State Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills.  A funeral prayer will be at 9:15 AM on Friday, February 4, 2011 in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church in Clairton, Pennsylvania.
