GRACE M. LAVERICK
Grace Laverick, age 88, of Rostraver Township, Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, March 9, 2013. She was born Grace Margaret Furlong on January 27, 1925 in West Elizabeth, Pennsylvania one of three children of John William Furlong and Margaret Rebecca (Atkinson) Furlong. Grace retired in 1990 as the Postmaster of the West Elizabeth Branch of the U. S. Post Office and she was a long time member of the former West Elizabeth United Methodist Church, singing in the choir and belonging to the Women’s Society.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Davis Laverick and both of her brothers, John William, Jr. and Ralph Norman Furlong. Grace is survived by her two children, daughter, Melody A. Lowman of Marion Center, Pennsylvania and son, John Laverick of West Elizabeth; four granddaughters, Melissa (Carl) Pascarella, Jenna (Paul) Gilbert, Heather (Ben Starkey) Lowman and Kayla (Emily Kantor) Lowman and three great grandchildren, Nicolas, Viktor and Chaya.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 5 – 9 PM in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania where her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 11 AM. Reverend Tom Carr will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Round Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania.
