Grace A. Kulka, age 96 of Clairton, Pennsylvania, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 in Lawson Nursing Home where she resided with her sister, June Aileen Bickerton. She was born, Anna Grace Bickerton on August 5, 1919 in Jefferson Township (now Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania) one of ten children of John and Ida (Stemme) Bickerton. Grace was a retired Clinical Secretary at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and a longtime member of the Olivet Presbyterian Church, West Elizabeth, Pennsylvania.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew “Nance” Kulka in 1963 and eight of her siblings, brothers, John, Orville, Howard, Donald, Tom and Paul Bickerton and sisters, Bernice Nagy and Betty Robb. Grace is the dearest and sweetest mother of Betty Jean (Jim) Hipsky of St. Louis, Missouri and Janis (Dan) Lindskog of Lexington, Kentucky; grandmother of four, Karyn Voorhees, Jessica (Brian) Diekhoff, Marc (Angie) Haines and Scott Haines; great grandmother of six, Chase Voorhees, twins, Ava and Lanie Diekhoff, Gage Diekhoff, Grace and Leah Haines and sister of June Aileen Bickerton of Clairton.
Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills, from 2 – 7 PM Friday, July 8, 2016 and 10:30 until the time of service at 12 Noon on Saturday, July 9, 2016. Her burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Elizabeth Township, Pennsylvania.
