GRACE LOUISE (TRAINER) CUDDY
Grace Cuddy, age 82, of Calamity Hollow in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, died Sunday, March 8, 2015. She was born Grace Louise Trainer on September 6, 1932, in Calamity Hollow, one of seven children of William Joseph and Anna Elizabeth (Waltman) Trainer. She was a cake decorator and made wedding cakes for many local families; she cooked for numerous restaurants and in her later years was a “companion” for Helping Hands. Previously, she had been a longtime member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five of her siblings, brothers, William, Robert and Clarence Trainer and sisters, Dorothy Diaz and Shirley Certelli. Grace is survived by her three children, two daughters, Geri Prinkey of Elizabeth and Marilyn (Frank) Saye of Elrama, in Union Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania and son, Art Cuddy of Oregon; five grandchildren, Dale (Michelle) Provins, Peter Sparico, John (Tina) Saye, Steven Saye and Julie Salzman; five great grandchildren, Mariah, Cody, Chelsea, Keri and Samantha; one sister, Ada “Pudge” Yardas of Jefferson Hills; many nieces and nephews and she was a beloved “Aunt Grace” to many others.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 PM in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills, where her funeral will be held on Thursday at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Round Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania.
