Geraldine Z. Barone

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Geraldine Barone, age 93, of the Baldwin–Whitehall area, who died on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. Born on January 20, 1933, in Pittsburgh, Geraldine Agnes was the daughter of the late Stanley and Rose Zbikowski. 

A graduate of South Hills High School, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked for many years alongside her late husband, Alvin J. Barone, Sr. “Beegee”, at their family businesses, Beegee’s Bar-One and Manor Real Estate. 

She was preceded in death by her husband; her brothers, Stanley, Donald and Leonard Zbikowski; her daughter-in-law, Sarah O’Neill Barone; grandchild Michael; and great grandchild Giuseppe. She is survived by her seven children: Alvin "Jamie" Barone, Gretchen (Tim) Donahoe, David Barone, Adam (Kathy) Barone, Carolyn (Jim) Franz, Joel (Gina) Barone, and Danielle Pferdehirt. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren—Christian, Corrie, Asunta, Caitlin, Brian, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Thomas, Luke, Vaughn, Cameron, Drew, Serena, Eric, Justin, and Kyle; two step-grandchildren, Molly and Emily; and one great grandchild, Filomena Rose.

Per her wishes, there will be no viewing or visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Resurrection Parish, St. John Capistran Church, 1610 McMillan Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15241.
