George Clayton Henderson, age 78, died peacefully at his home in Liberty Boro, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was born July 1, 1937 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, one of three children of George Albert and Margaret Elizabeth (Law) Henderson. George proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a member of the Masonic Blue Lodge.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Krueger and is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Jean Henderson; three loving children, George J. (Katherine) Henderson, Diane L. (Bill Chase) Rohall and Denise A. (Stephen) Turek; seven grandchildren, Jade E. Henderson, Joseph G. Rohall, Stephen P. Turek, Jr., Janeen L. Rohall, Samantha P. Henderson, Jacob A. Turek and Jeffrey G. Henderson; one sister, Barbara (Paul) Finney and brother-in-law, Amil Krueger.
Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills on Friday from 5 – 8 PM and on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of his funeral service at 11:30 AM. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Round Hill Cemetery.
George was very devoted to his family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors immensely, loved to work around the house and had the ability to fix anything. Known for his honesty, integrity, this great man touched all those who made his acquaintance. George was loved by all and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
