George Bucy

GEORGE  "JACK"  BUCY

George "Jack" Bucy, age 91, of Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania, formerly of Forward Township, Pennsylvania, died on Friday, January 3, 2014.  He was born, George Jackson Bucy, on January 13, 1922 in Jefferson Township, Pennsylvania, a son of the late William Bucy and Ida (Maple) Bucy Adams.  Jack served in the Merchant Marines during WW II, worked as a Supervisor for US Steel at the Clairton Works in Clairton, Pennsylvania, was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, the Rostraver Grange, the Elizabeth Odd Fellows and a former Volunteer at the Elizabeth Food Bank.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Louise (Firden) Bucy; his only two children, daughters, Bonnie Armbrust and Nancy Louise Bucy and two brothers, William and Merle Bucy.  He is survived by three grandchildren, Kristie, Jodie and Jason; three great grandchildren; four siblings, brothers, Harry Bucy of Indiana and Gilbert Adams of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania and sisters, June Fairman of California and Judy Poziviak of Ohio and nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2 – 8 PM, Thursday, January 9, 2014 in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania where his funeral service will be held on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 11 AM with Reverend Jim Davidson officiating. Burial will be in Round Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth Township.
