Edward “Bill” Morningstar

Edward “Bill” Morningstar, age 90, of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, passed away on February 20, 2023. He was born 1 of 3 children (the late Shirley & Dewey) to the late Cloyd “Cy” & Amy Morningstar.

Bill enjoyed playing baseball in his younger years and was a Veteran of the Korean War, he served as a para trooper in the Army achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He worked as a Railroad Clerk for B & O Railroad, was a member of Jefferson United Methodist Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents and siblings, he was preceded in death by two children at birth, Mary & Joseph. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty Morningstar; children, Dale (Mike) Daley, Joyce (David) Grasso, William “Billy” (Deb) Morningstar, and Beth (Kenny) Rose; Grandchildren, Eddie, Samantha, Julie, Danielle, Nick, Kelli, Danny, and Elizabeth; & 9 Great Grandchildren.

Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51, Jefferson Hills, PA 15025, on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 from 1 to 5:30 PM, at which time his funeral service will take place with Reverend Kathy Clark officiating and full military honors.
