Don Bickerton, age 74, of Elizabeth Township, Pennsylvania, formerly of Rostraver Township, Pennsylvania, died Friday, June 13, 2014 at his home with family. He was born Donald Lee Bickerton on April 8, 1940 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, one of four children of Thomas Calvin and Marion Lucille (Blush) Bickerton. Don worked in the banking industry for over 40 years and was an avid hunter, motorcyclist, bowler and golfer. He grew up in and was a long time member to the Olivet Presbyterian Church in West Elizabeth, Pennsylvania. In his banking days he was a member of the McKeesport Area Chamber of Commerce and long time Lions Club member.
He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kalista "Kit" Bickerton; two children, Bradley (Lynne) Bickerton of Cortland, Ohio and Dawn (Cathy) Bickerton of Scottdale, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Jack, Ben, Claudia and Ruby; three siblings, Thomas (Miriam) Bickerton of Greenwood, South Carolina, Norma Jean (Steve) Sujeta of Greenock, Pennsylvania and Terry (Rita Wall) Bickerton of Jefferson Hills, one brother-in-law, David (Nancy) Dreier of New Burn, North Carolina and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the Stephen D Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills from 2 - 7 PM on Monday, June 16, 2014 and from 10:30 AM until the time of service at 12 Noon on Tuesday, June 17, 2014. The Reverend Judi Slater will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in Round Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth Township.
