David Mrochek

January 17, 1948 — September 15, 2015

David John Mrochek, age 67, made his journey to heaven on September 15, 2015 as the song “Angel” by Sara Mclaughlin played.  He was in Florida, at the home of his daughter, MaryBeth Cron, surrounded by MaryBeth, his son-in-law, Eddie and his four grandsons, Corey, Noah, Nasia and Oliver.  Dave was born on January 17, 1948 in Monongahela, Pennsylvania, one of four children of Daniel Francis Mrochek and Mary Ann (Ondic) Mrochek (a.k.a. Mary Bejger after a 2 nd marriage).

Dave graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, West Jefferson Hills School District, in Pennsylvania, in 1965 and was his class President.  He received a Master’s Degree from Duquesne University, Class of 1971.  He served with honors as a Captain in the U.S. Army and later with the Air Force Reserves during the Vietnam War.  Dave served as a Police Officer in Fairfax County, Virginia, worked as a general contractor for the Virginia Department of Transportation and was owner of Able Tree, Inc.  He loved the great outdoors, hunting, fishing and just enjoying the views.  Dave  loved people, good conversation and was always thankful for a home cooked meal.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Madeline Walker.  He is survived by his daughter and her family; a sister, Betty Toth and a brother, Daniel (Patti) Mrochek.

Dave was cremated in Florida and will be buried with Military Honors in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 10:30 AM.  A reception of friends will follow the burial service.
