David John Massaro, age 77, of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at his home on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. Dave was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania on October 9, 1947, one of six children of Martino Milan Massaro and Dora (Heaps) Massaro.
Dave grew up in Clairton, Pennsylvania and graduated from Clairton High School. Early in his working career, he worked as an auto mechanic at Century III Dodge. He later started and was the owner of Massaro Electric for over 30 years, employing members of his family and many friends.
He loved “recreationally” racing cars, listening to music and was an avid fan of the Three Stooges and the classic 1950’s – 1960’s Westerns. Dave was an avid sports fan and loved attending professional wrestling matches, especially when he got to meet Bruno Sammartino.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death, in March of 2017, by his wife of 44 years, Linda Louise (Janczewski) Massaro, whom he married July 1, 1972. He was also preceded by his son, Richard Dean Massaro in December of 2013. Dave is survived by his son, Michael B. Massaro of Jefferson Hills; his five siblings, Sandy (Tom) Dady, Keith (Jane) Massaro, Gary (Karen) Massaro, Valerie (Greg) Morris and Cheryl Massaro; many nieces and nephews; his current companion, Jackie Kantor and his preferred “stepchildren”, Ryan Lundquist and Amber (Josh) Lundquist.
Family and Friends will be received on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 5 to 8 pm in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, PA 15025 (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home at the conclusion of the visitation at 8 pm.
