Jefferson Hills

David Lawrence Grimes, of Jefferson Hills, formerly of Bellbridge, Pennsylvania, passed away September 16, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born and raised in Lincoln Boro (Bellbridge), he grew up with a modest upbringing that instilled in him the values of hard work, faith, and love of family. From a young age, he developed a passion for gospel and country music, which remained close to his heart throughout his life.

A devoted man of faith, he served as a deacon at his church, where he shared his kindness and commitment to serving others. He lived by the principles of family and country first, values that guided him every day.

He was also a proud Pittsburgh sports fan, never missing an opportunity to cheer on his beloved Steelers and Penguins.

In his professional life, he worked with dedication for GC Murphy’s and later with Guarda Security Company, where his reliability and work ethic were well respected.

He is survived by his loving wife Marilyn Grimes, children Douglas Edward Grimes, Susan Dawn (Grimes) George, Mark David Grimes, Richard Lee Grimes, and Jason Scott Grimes along with 20 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

He is the last living child of William John Franklin Grimes and Olive Helen (Carothers) Grimes who preceded him in death.

His family and friends will remember him for his faith, his love of music, his loyalty to Pittsburgh sports, and most of all, the deep love he had for his family.

A celebration of life in his honor is being planned for the spring of 2026. The exact date will be announced in the future.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Tunnel for Towers, St Jude Children Hospital or Samaritans Purse.
