DARYL CELESTINO
Daryl A. Celestino, age 67, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at his home in West Elizabeth surrounded by his family. He was born on June 29, 1948 in Monongahela one of two children of Arthur A. and Grace Virginia (Lloyd) Celestino. Daryl taught 33 years in the West Jefferson Hills School District, retiring in 2008; the last 24 years as a Math teacher in the high school. He was a Seaman 2nd Class in the Navy during the Vietnam War and a member of the “SeaBees” MCB 11 and MCB 4. Daryl was elected to West Elizabeth Borough Council for over 4 terms and a member of the West Elizabeth Sanitary Authority.
He was preceded in death by his father in 2003 and is survived by his wife, Eileen (Bendel) Celestino; two children, son Craig (Megan) Celestino and daughter, Gina (Justin) Deem; two grandsons, Carter and Landon Deem; his mother, Grace; his sister, Sharyn (Ronald) Trunzo of MI and nephew Tim Trunzo.
Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills on Wednesday from 5 – 8 PM and Thursday from 1 – 3 and 6 – 8 PM. His funeral service will be on Friday at 10 AM in the funeral home. Daryl will be buried with Military Honors in Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery in Pleasant Hills.
