Lucinda Lynn “Cindy” Niggel age 61, of South Park, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, January 5, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. She was born December 26, 1955 in Denver, Colorado, a daughter of Elwood Jujahue McCarty and Myrna Louise (O’Dell) McCarty. Cindy was a legal secretary; she worked at AHN Jefferson Hospital as a Health Unit Coordinator and as a Lab Transcriptionist; she also operated a beer distributor. She was a U. S. Navy Veteran and was a member of the Windover Hills United Methodist Church who volunteered on the “Tech Team”.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted companion Joseph Zupancic. Cindy is survived by her son, Nicholas (Nicole) Niggel of North Huntingdon Township, Pennsylvania; grandson, Landon Niggel; her three siblings, Mary Lou (Carmine) Bossio of South Park and Penny (Bob) Hillman and Jay (Diane) McCarty both of Monongahela, Pennsylvania; her dog Fifi and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Friends will be received in the Stephen D Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania from 1 – 3 and 6 – 8 PM on Sunday, January 8, 2017. Her visitation will continue on Monday, January 9, 2017 in the vestibule of Windover Hills United Methodist Church, 6751 Ridge Road (in South Park) Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15236, at 9:30 AM followed by her funeral service in the Sanctuary at 10 AM. Burial will follow in the Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery.
