Charles "Chuck" Boyer, age 86, of Elizabeth Township, Pennsylvania formerly of Buena Vista, Pennsylvania died Saturday, September 25, 2010 at his home. He was born Charles Alfred Boyer on October 8, 1923 in Huntington, West Virginia, the only son of Charles Louis and Margaret (Metzler) Boyer. He was a mechanic for Dick Corporation for over 25 years, a World War II and Battle of the Bulge Veteran, a member of the Masons and a 50 year member of Operating Engineers, Local # 66.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Coughenour) Boyer; 1 son, Charles Ivan (Mary Catherine) Boyer; 1 daughter, Tammy (Jack) Smith; 5 grandchildren, Charles and Joseph Boyer, Jack, Kayla and Matthew Smith; 4 sisters, Ella Morgan of New Jersey, Dorothy Brookhouser of Boston, Pennsylvania, Mary Lou Keilen of Beaver, Pennsylvania and Anna Marie (Darl) Taylor of Westland, Michigan and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 6 – 9 PM on Monday, September 27, 2010 & 2 – 4 & 6 – 9 PM on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 State Route 51 (Large) Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania where his funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 29, 2010, Pastor William Starr of the Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church, in Elizabeth Township, officiating. Interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, Pennsylvania with Military Honors. If desired family suggests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
