Catherine M. HuWalt, age 93, of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, formerly of Duquesne, Pennsylvania died on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at home with family by her side. Catherine was born February 1, 1919 in Millom, Cumberland, England and was the seventh of eight children to the late Stephen and Ellen (Burns) Steele; she was a mother and homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edward “Bud” HuWalt on March 2, 1987. She is survived by her four children, daughters, Michelle (Robert) Cheplic and Stephanie (Paul) Sovak both of Jefferson Hills and sons, Edward (Tanya) HuWalt and Robert (Donna) HuWalt both of Ligonier; Pennsylvania fourteen grandchildren, Melissa, Rob, Mary Beth, Tim, Eddie, Tommy, Patrick, Kathy, Christopher, Joshua, Anthony, Grady, Rachel and Nathaniel; one great grandson, Jacob and nieces and nephews
Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 State Route 51 (Large), Jefferson Hills on Friday, July 6, 2012 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 PM. A prayer will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 9:15 AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas A’Becket Catholic Church on Gill Hall Road in Jefferson Hills at 10 AM with Father Robert L. Seeman Celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Duquesne.
