Carolyn Dowlin, age 95 of Elizabeth died Saturday, May 5, 2012. She was born Carolyn Kathryn Knight October 4, 1916 in Elizabeth, one of four children of Abinus and Annabelle Knight. Carolyn was a graduate of Clairton HS, Class of 1934, worked many years for the Democratic Party Board of Elections in Elizabeth Township, was a member of Blaine Hill AARP and the Elizabeth Senior Citizens and attended the Central Highlands United Methodist Church in Elizabeth Township.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William I. Dowlin in 1989 and her three siblings, Edward and Donald Knight and Mary Campbell. Carolyn is survived by two daughters, Doris (Robert) Magiske of Finleyville and Carol (John) Walker of Elizabeth; four grandchildren, Robert Magiske of Monongahela, Donna (Kim) Clackson of Peters Township, Carol (Joe) Territo of West Mifflin and John E. Walker of Myrtle Beach, SC; five great-grandchildren, Nicole (Dan) Rossman of Wexford, Matthew Clackson of Chicago, Michael Magiske of Monongahela, Chris Clackson and Amy Magiske both of Peters Township and nieces and nephews
Friends will be received from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM on Tuesday in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 State Route 51 (Large) Jefferson Hills, where her funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Round Hill Cemetery.
