CARMEL J. (COTTONE) DONNELLY
Carmel Donnelly, age 84 of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania and formerly of Clairton, Pennsylvania died on Tuesday November 28, 2017. She was born on August 22, 1933 in Mingo Junction (Jefferson County), Ohio, one of eight children of Eugene and Angeline Marie (Leeper) Cottone. Carmel was a 1952 graduate of Clairton High School and 1956 graduate of St. John’s School of Nursing and had a lengthy career in nursing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Cottone and two daughters-in-law, Leslie Donnelly and Roberta Donnelly. Carmel is survived by her husband, Bill Donnelly; three children, William (Jamie Rogers) Donnelly, Robert Donnelly and Carol (John) Arena; ten grandchildren, Kristi Lee (Nate), Billy (Shantel), Ashley (Ryan), Bobby, Reagan, Rebeckah, Riona, Nikki (Will), Amanda (Ian) and John (Melissa); nine great grandchildren, Liam, Cullen, Gabriella, Ryley, Franchesca, Beckett, Elizabeth, Hudson and Sawyer; six siblings, four brothers, Anthony, Eugene “Yudge”, James and Robert Cottone and two sisters, Joann Geary and Maryann Melanie and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home, (Large) in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania on Monday, December 4, 2017 from 5 – 8 PM and Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from noon – 3 and 5 – 8 PM. A funeral prayer will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, December 7, 2017 at 9 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM in Holy Spirit Catholic Church in West Miffin with Father Patrick Barkey Celebrating the Mass. Her burial will be in Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery in Pleasant Hills, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
