CARL "VIC" LEWIS

Carl Victor Lewis, age 77, of Elrama, in Union Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, died on Sunday, December 29, 2013.  Born December 30, 1935 in Elizabeth Township, Pennsylvania, he was the son of James Calvin Lewis and G. Ruth (Karnes) Lewis.  He served in the U. S. Army and was retired from Westinghouse Electric Corp., Kellogg Rust and Nash Kinema; was a Life Member, who has served as Asst. Chief and Trustee of the Elrama Volunteer Fire Company; was also a Life Member of the Elrama Sportsman’s Club and a member F & AM Stephen Bayard Lodge # 526 in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, of 52 years, Jacqueline Dorothy ("Randy" Randolph) Lewis and his sister, Katherine (Late James) Bedell formerly of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

He is survived by two sons, James Calvin Lewis, Sr. and his wife Suzan (Hardinger) Lewis of Monongahela, Pennsylvania and Jack Carl Lewis and his wife Judy (Cunning) Lewis of Buena Vista, Pennsylvania;  two daughters, Joyce Carlene and her husband Vladimir, Kiritchenko of Coraopolis, Pennsylvania and Jodie Carla and her husband Alan, Olszewski of Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania.  Seven grandsons, James Calvin Lewis, Jr., Jared Allan Lewis, Jacob Andrew Lewis, Viktor Kiritchenko, Lambert Edmund Olszewski, Jesse James Lewis and Justin Jack Lewis; three granddaughters, Sarah Jean O’Brien, Kristina Kiritchenko and Jenna Mae Lewis; four step-grandchildren, Alan George Olszewski, Aaron Frank Olszewski, Shayla Cunning – Lewis and Shane Cunning – Lewis and many nieces, nephew and cousins.

Family and friends will be received from 1 - 8 PM, Thursday, January 2, 2014 in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, where his funeral service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 10 AM with Reverends Barry Lewis, Karen Prescott and Hal Dangel officiating.  Burial will be in Round Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania at a later date.  In Lieu of flowers, Carl and his family ask you to donate to the Elrama Volunteer Fire Company or the Elrama United Methodist Church, Elrama, Pennsylvania 15038.
