CARL  “BALDY” ANDERSON

Carl Louis “Baldy” Anderson, Jr. age 83, of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, died on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at his home surrounded by family members.  Formerly of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, he was born on December 6, 1933 in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, one of six children of Carl Louis, Sr. and Ruby (Gillin) Anderson.  Carl worked over 30 years for Copperweld Steel in Glassport, Pennsylvania and in Warren, Ohio,  He was an avid fisherman and hunter, a master carpenter; a lifetime member of American Legion Post 712 where he was a Past Commander; a lifetime VFW Post 803 member and a member F & AM of the Stephen Bayard Lodge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four of siblings, a sister, Grenalda Borso and brothers, Calvin, Louis and Harry “Butch” Anderson.  Carl is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret (Burton) Anderson; five children, Donna Rae (Pete) Pearsol of Richeyville, Pennsylvania. Carl (Rebecca) Anderson, III of North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, Claudia (Harry) Walters of Pratts, Virginia, Tracey (Jay) Black of Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania and Jahna (Ken) Newman of the Brookline section of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Kim (Steve) Antkowiak, Scott (Stacey) Poston; thirteen grandchildren, John, Carl (Katie) and Justine Anderson, Brienne, Emily and Molly Walters, Amanda (Justin Dodds) and Torrie Black and Trevor John, Bobby Lewis, Donna Rae Newman, Zachary Antkowiak and Rachel (Adam) Biedrzycki; five great grandchildren, Eliza Ann Lewis, and Callie Ann and Maggie Rose Dodds, Lillianna Grace and Isabella Katherine Biedrzycki; one remaining sibling, sister, Greta Rattanni of Elizabeth, Pennsylvania and many loving nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the Stephen D Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills, from 1 – 7 PM on Thursday, January 5, 2017.  Carl’s funeral service, with Military Honors, will be held in the funeral home at the conclusion of the visitation on Thursday evening.

There will be a Celebration Lunchoen / Reception on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 11:30 AM at American Legion Post 712 in Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania.
