Bethoe Cowden

Bethoe Lewis Cowden, age 95 of Pleasant Hills, formerly of Clairton, Pennsylvania died on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, in Jefferson Hospital. She was born on August 6, 1928, in Clairton, one of two children of Charles Pollock Lewis and Elizabeth (Stewart) Lewis.

She enjoyed vacationing in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware since 1941, and in Walt Disney World (30+ visits) and loved the Wizard of Oz and cardinals.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Elmer Cowden, joining him in heaven on their wedding anniversary, and her brother, Stewart Lewis.

She is survived by her three children, daughter Charleen (Lance) Koah, and sons, Boyd L. (Patricia) Cowden and Dwight E. (Joanne) Cowden; five grandchildren, Brian S. Koah, Todd (Amber) Koah, Bryon (Jessica) Schmitz, Katherine (Richard) Stinson, and Jacob E. Cowden and six great grandchildren, Thomas Koah, Tenley Koah, Avery Koah, Adeline Koah, Wesley Stinson, and Olivia Stinson.

There will be no visitation. A private interment will take place in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, where her husband is buried. Arrangements are by the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com.
