BERNICE R. BARR
Bernice Barr age 84, of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, formerly of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, died on Thursday, August 25, 2016. She was born, Bernice Margareth Raible in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, one of three children of Frederick Joseph, Sr. and Wilhelmina Cecelia (Kritcher) Raible on October 4, 1931.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Baird Barr, Jr. on September 7, 2012. She is survived by their three children, Nancy (John) Russell of Leesburg, Florida, Kathy (Tom) Lumsden of Jefferson Hills and John (Kim) Barr of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, Katie (Graig) Marx, Eric Kubicsek, Julie (Matt) Magdic, Rebecca Lumsden, Scott Lumsden, Sarah Barr, Megan Barr and Lauren Barr; four great grandchildren, Molly and Simon Marx and Riley and Lincoln Magdic and her two siblings, Lois Haley of Brookline in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Frederick J. Raible. Jr. of Houston, Texas.
Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home, 1701 State Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills on Sunday, August 28, 2016 from 1 – 3 PM and 6 – 8 PM. On Monday, August 29, 2016 a prayer will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 AM in St. Thomas A’Becket Catholic Church, 139 Gill Hall Road, Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025, with Father Daniel Maurer officiating. Entombment will be in the Jefferson Memorial Park Mausoleum in Pleasant Hills, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
