Bernard Thomas Hollis

Bernard Hollis, age 92 of West Mifflin Pennsylvania, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024. He was born Bernard Thomas Hollis on January 29, 1931, in Homestead, Pennsylvania.

Most important in Bernie’s life was his faith in Jesus Christ, he was a member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was a Master Electrician and member of IBEW Local #5. Bernie was also a very gifted wood worker.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Maxine Ruth (Straub) Hollis in 2017. He is survived by his three children, Don (Mary Ann) Hollis of Bethel Park, Dean (Cynthia) Hollis of Baldwin and Deborah (Stuart) King of Ohio. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, plus 1 on the way!

Family and friends will be received on Friday, January 19, 2024, from 2 – 4 PM and 6 - 8 PM in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025. On Saturday, January 20, 2024, there will be a prayer in the funeral home at 9:15 AM and his funeral service will follow at 10 AM in Lebanon Presbyterian Church, 2800 Old Elizabeth Road, West Mifflin, Pennsylvania 15122. His burial with Military Honors will follow in Lebanon Church Cemetery across the street from the church.
