BARBARA (HILLER) BASICH

Barbara Basich, age 91 of Monaca, Pennsylvania, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at her home with family around her.  She was born Barbara June Hiller January 17, 1931, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania a daughter of Walter and Eleanor (Curtis) Hiller and grew up in the Brentwood Borough section of Pittsburgh.

Barb graduated from Brentwood High School in 1948 and raised her family in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania.  She also lived in Clairton, Pennsylvania with her late husband, Albert “Al” Basich who was a Police Officer and former Chief of Police in Jefferson Hills.  They were active in the Wilson Civic Club.  Barb worked as a bookkeeper for many years and was a former member of Jefferson United Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Al, in August of 2007 and a son, John Robbins, Jr.  She is survived by two children, Randi (Gary) Bollinger of Monaca, and Scott Robbins of Jefferson Hills; daughter in law, Joy Robbins of Ebensburg, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home, 1701 Route 51, Jefferson Hills 15025 (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com on Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 10 – 11 am at which time her funeral service will be held.  A graveside committal service will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery in Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania.

Barb was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
