Anthony G. Sanutelli, Sr. age 78 of Clairton, Pennsylvania, formerly of Westland, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on May 7, 1948 one of six children of Mario and Betty Mae Sanutelli.
He went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. After returning home, he built a long and steady career with General Motors, retiring after 30 years of dedicated work.
Tony was a devoted member of Club 46 and the VFW, communities that reflected his loyalty, camaraderie, and love of fellowship. He was a racing and sports fan through and through. He cheered hard for Pittsburgh teams, while also holding a special place for his Detroit favorites, the Lions and Red Wings. Still, in Tony’s heart, the Steelers were always number one.
Those who knew Tony will remember him instantly for his unmistakable giggle and warm smile. They will remember, too, his stubborn streak, his gift for storytelling, and his willingness to bend the rules now and then. These qualities made him memorable; the love he gave made him unforgettable. Above all else, Tony will be remembered as a man full of love. He cherished being a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and that joy was woven deeply into the life he lived.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Christian; brothers, Rudy (Joann), Albert (Monica); and a niece, Michelle.
He is survived by his children, Deanna (Normand) Boisclair of Sweetwater, TN, and Anthony “Tony” (Christina) G. Sanutelli, Jr.; grandchildren, Dakota, Amanda, Tiffany, Laura, Tony III, Alaina, Alexis, Thomas, Ashley, and Brandie; 11 great grandchildren; siblings, Margaret (Duane), Mary (Vince), and Fred (Jean); nieces and nephews, Lisa, Melissa, Duane, Fred, Chrissy, and Brian; and several great nieces and great nephews.
Arrangements by Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home, 1701 Route 51, Jefferson Hills, PA 15025. 412-384-0350.
