ANTHONY B. CARUSO
Anthony “Sonny” Caruso, age 64, formerly of Lincoln Place in Pittsburgh, died Monday, October 3, 2011 at his home in Rostraver Township, surrounded by family. He was born March 21, 1947 in Pittsburgh, a son of Louis and Anna Sophia (Mastascusa) Caruso. “Tony the Telephone Man” retired from Verizon (formerly Bell Telephone Co.), was the owner/operator of Caruso Alarms and a member of the Telephone Retiree’s Breakfast Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lou Williams and 2 brothers Daniel and Gerard Caruso. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Simica) Caruso; 3 daughters, Christine (Thomas) Reitz, Sharon (Jay Zenobi) Sandin and Renee (John Edinger, Jr) Caruso; 1 son, Anthony Jason Caruso; 5 grandchildren, Thomas and Jamie Reitz, Ashley (Chris Poston) and Alyssa Sandin and Madison Caruso; 1 great grandson, Cayden Reitz; 1 brother, Tom (Sue) Caruso; 2 sister-in-laws, Kelly Caruso and Karen (John) Resh; 2 brother-in-laws, Lauren Williams and Tony (Shirley) Simica and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Friends will be received from 1 – 8 PM on Thursday in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 State Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills, where a Blessing service will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s (New St. Joe’s) Catholic Cemetery in North Versailles.
