ANNA (STANCHAK) FARINA
Anna Farina, age 99, of Hays, died on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Lawson Nursing Home in Jefferson Hills. She was born in Wickhaven in Fayette County, Pennsylvania on September 2, 1913 one of nine children of Andrew and Sophia (Korbelek) Stanchak. Anna was a longtime member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Hays and loved to play Bingo and go Bowling.
She was the loving wife of three husbands, Frank Ison, Sr., Albert Colizza and Louis "Butch" Farina. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by all 3 husbands and her son, Frank J. Ison Jr.
Anna is survived by her two grandsons, Frank J. (Sharon) Ison II of Whitehall and John A. Ison of Baldwin; two great grandsons, Marc Ison and Frank Ison III and her only daughter-in-law, Clara Ison.
Friends will be received from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM on Sunday in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills, where a funeral prayer will be held on Monday at 9 AM, followed by a 10 AM Mass in Holy Angels Catholic Church in Hays. Mass will be celebrated by Father Robert Ahlin. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
