ANITA MARY (SANTARCANGELO) MACIOCE

Anita “Sweetheart” (Angel) Macioce passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at her home in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania surrounded by her family.  Anita, age 93, was born on April 19, 1929, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania one of four children of Giuseppe a.k.a. “Joseph Angel” and Giovannina “Jennie” (Speranzo) Santarcangelo.

In addition to her parents, Anita was preceded in death by a grandson, Robbie and all three of her siblings, Philamina “Mina” Cristiano, Anthony Angel and Joseph Angel.  She is survived by her four children, Robert (Pam) Macioce, Paula (Tom) Thompson, David (Sheri) Macioce and Domenic (Diane) Macioce; eight grandchildren, Tommy, David, Stephen, David “Bubba”, Michael, Nicholas, Liliana and Olivia; nine great grandchildren, Masen, Shawn, Jayden, Landon, Donovan, Aubree, Darren, Joslyn and Derek and her dear friend Theresa Grieco.

Anita was a Westinghouse High School graduate with the Class of 1947.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, July 8, 2022, from 4 – 8 PM in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com.  Her funeral will be on Saturday, July 9, 2022, beginning with a prayer in the funeral home at 8:45 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in St. Joachim and Anne Parish, St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Elizabeth Township, Pennsylvania.  Following the Mass, she will be buried in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Verona, Pennsylvania next to her parents.
