RYAN THOMAS SNYDER
Ryan Snyder, age 43 of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on August 15, 1978, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania the youngest of two sons of Jay Lloyd Snyder and Doris Jane (Thomas) Snyder.
Ryan grew up in Jefferson Hills and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1997. In High School he enjoyed Latin Competitions, competing at the District and State levels. He then went on to Virginia Tech, where he graduated in 2002 with a degree in Architecture. He eventually worked for Century III Supply.
He loved to read, either outside sitting in the grass or inside by a fireplace with his cats. Christmas was his favorite holiday. He especially loved decorating Christmas Trees at his home and his church and making them appear as festive as possible.
Ryan is survived by his parents, who reside in Jefferson Hills; his brother, Jamison Lee Snyder, his wife, Alicja and their sons, Jackson Levi Snyder and Jonathan Quinn Snyder of Charles Town, West Virginia. He was preceded in death by all four of his grandparents, Paul Calvin Thomas and Arlene Elizabeth (Barkman) Thomas and Robert Will Snyder and Alverta Grace (Handwork) Luce.
He was a longtime member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 400 Old Clairton Road, Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania 15236 (412-655-2168) where his family will have a Celebration of his Life Service on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 11 am. Pastor Allyn Itterly will officiate at the service.
In lieu of flowers, Ryan’s family would like to suggest donations to the Prince of Peace Lutheran Memorial Fund in his memory. They would also like to thank the Staff and Hospice people on the 4th floor North at Jefferson Hospital for their care and attention to Ryan while he was there.
Ryan’s passion was spending time with his family, especially his two nephews.
