William Joseph BrindzaFebruary 8, 1936 ~ November 8, 2017 (age 81)
William Joseph Brindza age 81 of the Floreffe area in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania passed away on Wednesday November 8, 2017 at his home. He was born on February 8, 1936 in the neighboring community of Elrama, in the Union Township area of Washington County, Pennsylvania one of two children of Joseph and Mary (Kupcho) Brindza. Bill worked for 47 ½ years at the General Motors Fisher Body Plant in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, retiring as a Tool and Die Supervisor in the early 2000’s. He was part of the plant’s “Over The Hill Gang” of retirees and the GM Salaried Retirement Club; a member of the Jednota and a Lifetime member of the Elrama Volunteer Fire Department.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his only sibling, his sister, Mary Pepke. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Matilda “Tillie” (Pazej) Brindza; three children, Diana (Paul) Catania of Penn Hills, Pennsylvania, Bill (Becky) Brindza, Jr. of Douglasville, Georgia and Brenda (Jerry) Deacon of Marietta, Georgia; five grandchildren, Anthony and Julee Catania and Dedra, Carl and Anna Brindza.
Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home (Large) in Jefferson Hills on Monday, November 13, 2017 from 2 – 8 PM. On Tuesday, November 14, 2017 there will be a Prayer in funeral home at 9 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in the St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, 1216 Collins Avenue (Floreffe) Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Carroll Township, Monongahela, Pennsylvania.
