Larry Daniel Solomon age 75 of Elizabeth Township, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 30, 2018, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born July 29, 1943 in New Eagle, Pennsylvania one of two sons of Daniel J. and Mary Catherine (Zema) Solomon.
He was a teacher in the West Jefferson Hills School District and taught at the Thomas Jefferson High School for over 35 years. His accomplishments included owning and operating a photographic studio for more than 40 years; being a private pilot, owning his own plane and owning and restoring a 1958 red Corvette, which always put a smile on his face each time he spoke of it. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Professional Video Association (PPVA) and was a member of the Masons for over 25 years.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandra Lee (Pupilli) Solomon; two daughters, Lori Renee (Matthew) Czachowski of McDonald, Pennsylvania and Stacey Lynn (Robert) Newton of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren Caroline Czachowski, Madisen and Meranda Newton; his brother Daniel (Patricia) Solomon of Nashville, Tennessee and Marcy Kurin of Finleyville, Pennsylvania, a special family friend.
Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home, 1701 Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 11 AM, with the Reverend John Barker of the Brentwood Presbyterian Church officiating. Larry’s burial will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, near his home in Elizabeth Township.
